Self-Motivate yourself to clear NATA/JEE MAINS-II, train your mind for success and work with enthusiasm & you will be amazed at your creative urge. Self analyse your pros & cons practically to cope up with your lacking’s.
The common misunderstanding among NATA/JEE MAINS-II, aspirants is that if you draw well, then its half the battle won, which is totally false. Though good sketching is essential, the questions are composed on topics like effects of light & shadow, sense of perspective drawing, understanding scale & proportions, memory drawing, composing 2 & 3 - Dimensional elements etc. So, skillsets should be enhanced logically & rationally.
Understand that your drawing & creative skills are useless if you are not able to present your thoughts in the exam in the given time frame. You stand to lose marks for the questions you fail to answer or which are left incomplete, it doesn't matter how good you are at your work. So speed is equally important.
Go through all previous papers of NATA/JEE MAINS-II. Solve at least 5-10 past papers within the time limit. Find out a comfortable sequence of answering the paper. If you are faced with a mental block, breathe deeply, relax and then try to answer the question.
It is difficult to review in a few lines but we can say that creativity is the ability to come up with new, original ideas which are not conventional. It is the thinking instead from the fix, predictable, conventional set of thoughts and enjoying a thoughtful insight to problem solving.
Prefer working in A4 size as that is normally the standard size of answer sheets in the examinations.
There is more knowledge in walking a mile than reading heaps of books, Interview and interact with students, Architects for first-hand information regarding NATA/JEE MAINS-II and Architecture. Be more aware of the social media Architectural groups as they present acute knowledge of the field along with emerging trends. Increase your observation power. Try to find out about famous architects & their works & how they have contributed to the field of architecture. Read Architectural & Drawing books / magazines & develop a genuine passion for your field.
Drawing questions practice without erasers and re-drawing preferably, have an outline and scope of the drawing in light hand first checking paper boundaries and then proceed to main context and detailing. You should be able to save lot of time if you have mind map of the scope brainstormed before.
Always refer NATA/JEE MAINS-II brochure and details of medium of answers, Practice (colours) as suggested Pencil colours are recommended, as they are convenient to use and take less time in exams. Memorize with colour scheme thinking in advance refer colour wheel strategies.
Recommended to start preparing from XI Class standard as drawing development takes quality time for evolvement of skill sets. Plan your time well for NATA/JEE MAINS-II preparation if you are also preparing for other entrance exams. Use your time effectively with a time table. Don't start your preparations after you finish your XII boards - The earlier you start, better will be your grasp and grip on the different subjects of NATA/JEE MAINS-II.
